Meteosense is a biometeorology app that helps you understand when environmental factors (atmospheric pressure, geomagnetic activity, temperature, humidity, wind, the Moon, and space weather) may be affecting how you feel. This policy explains what data the app uses and how.
Short version: Meteosense does not require an account, does not ask for your name or email, does not show ads, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell your data. Your history stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage, which only you can access.
With your permission, Meteosense uses your device's location to fetch weather, geomagnetic, and space-weather conditions for your area. Your coordinates are rounded to approximately 11 km before use, for privacy. Location is used only to retrieve environmental data — it is not stored on our servers, not linked to your identity, and not used for advertising or tracking.
If you prefer, you can decline location access and enter a city manually.
To calculate your daily environmental load, the app requests weather and space-weather data from third-party sources (see "Third-party services" below). This data describes the environment, not you.
When you rate how you felt on a given day (a 1–5 value), that rating is stored on your device, and in your private iCloud if iCloud is on for Meteosense, to personalize your results. An anonymous copy of the rating may be sent to our backend to compute an aggregate statistic (for example, "a share of people reported feeling similarly"). The submitted payload contains no account, no device identifier, and no location — only the rating and the day's environmental classification. As with any internet request, our hosting provider (Google Firebase) may transiently process standard technical data such as your IP address to deliver the request, governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Meteosense learns your personal sensitivity to different factors using a model that runs entirely on your device. The learned weights are kept with your settings on your device and, if iCloud is on for Meteosense, in your private iCloud so they survive reinstalling the app or moving to a new iPhone. They are never sent to us or anyone else.
Your history (daily environmental load, the approximate location used for it, and your ratings) is stored in the app's on-device database. If iCloud is turned on for Meteosense, it is also kept in your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so it can be restored after reinstalling the app and shared between your own devices. This data lives in your iCloud account: we, the developer, cannot see or access it. History is kept until you delete it.
iCloud sync arrives with the next app update. Until you install it, your history stays only on your device and is removed if you uninstall the app.
iCloud sync uses Apple's CloudKit private database and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn it off at any time in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Meteosense. When it is off, your data is not shown on that device and returns when you turn it back on. Meteosense also keeps a few small preferences in iCloud key-value storage (for example, when your free trial started and which tips you have already seen) so they stay consistent across your devices.
The app stores small preference flags on your device (for example, notification de-duplication and display settings). These contain no personal information.

If you allow notifications, Meteosense may alert you before a day with elevated environmental load. Notifications are optional and can be turned off at any time in iOS Settings.
Your history, ratings, and personalization model live on your device and, if iCloud is on, in your private iCloud, so you are in control. In Settings → Delete All Data, you can permanently remove them from this device and from iCloud on all your devices. Uninstalling the app removes the copy on this device; the copy in your iCloud stays and is restored if you install Meteosense again. To remove it from iCloud as well, use Delete All Data before uninstalling, or manage it in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
Meteosense is not directed to children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR in the EU, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access or delete your data. Because we do not hold personal data linked to your identity on our servers, you can exercise these rights directly by using the in-app deletion feature.
